Volummi is manufactured 100% in Germany. When selecting the materials, we focused not only on properties such as shape retention, durability & hair-friendliness, but it was also important to us that the material is recyclable.

Regional production & packaging, highest quality, and fair working conditions are just as important to us as giving something back. That’s why we decided to plant a tree for every Volummi sold.

Why trees are so close to our hearts

Planting and protecting trees is the most effective method to save our climate.

According to a study by the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology ETH Zurich, reforestation of forests worldwide on 0.9 billion hectares would be possible, since these areas are currently not otherwise used by humans. This corresponds roughly to the size of the USA.

The new forests would then be able to absorb 205 billion tons of carbon.

Since the industrial revolution, around 300 billion tons of CO2 have already been released into the atmosphere. The study shows that forest areas would be an effective means of reducing carbon in the atmosphere.

Thus, these trees could absorb about two-thirds of all human-caused CO2 emissions.

This also clearly shows the positive impact this would have as a means to fight climate change. Of course, this cannot happen overnight. It will certainly take decades for the trees to fully develop their potential as carbon stores. Therefore, we should start taking care of our forests on Earth as soon as possible.

The beautiful thing is that by preserving and reforesting our forests, we are not only making a contribution to combating the climate crisis. The animal and plant world that inhabits the forests also benefits from this. Furthermore, reforestation can reduce erosion and improve local water quality.

With every Volummi sold, a tree is planted. For this reason, we work with the organization “Plant-for-the-Planet Foundation” and donate the corresponding amount every month.
